陳秋苑：朋友們，今天的Share Lab藏著一份特別的緣分——我們請到了我相識十五年的老友、CAN總線傳教父、CiA協會主席Holger先生！從工作伙伴到生活摯友，我們見證了彼此的成長，也親歷了CAN技術的全球普及之路。本次閑談式訪談，我們會聊聊初識時的趣事與中德家庭聚餐的文化碰撞，聽聽他在CAN發展史上遇到的意外瞬間與“寫書命名”的奇思妙想，探尋CAN技術那些意想不到的跨界應用，更會讓他給年輕工程師送上箴言，順便“調侃”我的十五年成長。讓我們在輕松的氛圍中，感受一位行業泰斗的專業溫度與人格魅力。

Q1：“我們認識已經十五年了，回想當初第一次接觸 CAN 的時候，真的是從零開始。您能分享一下，當時對我的印象，以及那段經歷給您留下了什么特別的記憶嗎？”

We’ve known each other for fifteen years. Looking back to the first time I got introduced to CAN, I was a complete beginner.

Could you share your first impression of me and special memories that period left you with?

Holger：

My special memory was that you were very young and you looked like a pupil, not an engineer, so that I regarded you as my daughter.

I need to explain something to you, to foster you and your personality, as well as your knowledge in CAN technology.

Lashare:

Yeah indeed I really appreciate it a lot. You are just like my teacher and my professor in the CAN world.

Q2: “在過去的這些年里，我們曾多次在彼此家庭聚會。您覺得在中德家庭聚餐中，有哪些有趣的差異或者小趣事，讓您印象深刻？”

Over the years, we’ve had many gatherings with each other’s families. What interesting differences or little stories in these Chinese and German family meals have left a strong impression on you?

Holger：

When I recalled my visit in your family. It was surprising that you didn’t like cooking, and with your husband and your father-in-law, we were three men in the kitchen and we cooked together. This was very interesting. In Germany, It’s normal that the women are cooking, sometimes also the men are cooking like me.

So I like to cook, and this is the difference between us: I like to cook and you don’t like it.

Lashare:

Yeah so this is why you are my German father right? We know each other because of business, but we are also indeed close friends. I still remember that we are always kidding, “this is private Lashare, or this is business Lashare”. So now following, I will act as more business version…

Q3: “談到 CAN 的發展歷史，您有沒有遇到過讓自己哭笑不得或者特別意外的瞬間？如果把 CAN 的故事寫成一本書，您會給它取個什么名字？”

Speaking of CAN’s development history, have there been moments that were both surprising and amusing to you?

If you were to write a book about CAN, what title would you give it?

Holger：

I would choose the title between the lines or CAN between the lines. Because not everything that’s technically explained is telling the true story. There are more to the story and that context is sometimes hidden between the lines.

Q4: “隨著全球各地對 CAN 技術的應用越來越廣泛，您有沒有遇到過一些特別有意思的案例，讓您覺得‘原來我們的技術被用在這種地方’？”

With CAN technology being applied more widely around the world, have you come across any particularly interesting cases that made you think, “So this is where our technology is being used?”

Holger：

There are many applications of CAN that’s we’re proud of. But there are also things we are not proud of and this is when CAN technology is used in military weapons.

You know all the drones have mainly CAN embedded and this is where I don’t like. It’s because this might be that I’m the CiA managing director, a worldwide (association), non-profit association and I don’t like that my members kill each other.

Q5: “回顧這十五年的職業經歷，如果給年輕的工程師或者剛入行的自己一句建議，您會說什么？同時，您有沒有想調侃我這些年的成長？”

Looking back over these fifteen years, if you could give one piece of advice to young engineers or your younger self and the younger Lashare starting out, what would it be?

Holger：

I think there is one thing engineers whether young or old should avoid. We should not reinvent the wheel. We should always look and learn from the elder people. And the elder people should share their knowledge with the younger ones. So don’t waste me! Ask me!

Lashare:

Yes! Because Holger is very experienced. Holger is very open-minded, and he also has really a lot of knowledge in his mind. And he is really always like to share and always ready to share.

So this is why we are close friends. Because I am Lashare, I like to share and my friend is also sharing always!

My dear old friend, now it is a big hug time for our 15th anniversary!!
